Fundamentals Is Money - Beef Up Your Core

Beefing Up Your Core

I’m going to address the importance of nitro-charging your fundamentals – adding more width and depth to your core game.

After punching 400 words in, I only realized that this subject may borderline boring, but I’m sure it’ll carry some weight for some of you.

Let’s get to it.

Regardless of the niche or industry you fancy like a fatty with candy, you need to cultivate a rich base of experience and knowledge before you can thrive in it.

Fundamentals are the foundation upon which everything else is built. And just like a house built on a shaky foundation, poor fundamentals will undermine everything that you are striving to do and become.

If you consider yourself a versatile individual, “building the base” should be your first priority when pursuing any new skill set. Let it be watch making, voice recording, drug smuggling, perfecting that sexy time in bed for your special someone – it all takes serious effort and determination before you can acquire the basics, which can only empower you further in your field.

The problem?

Most people don’t have the patience to stick through the thick and thin. When confronted with a wave of hurdle they get clueless, crumble, back down like a frightened ferret.

They reach a plateau. They get lazy upon realizing there will be more mountains to scale – there will always be new mountains to climb. You just gotta climb that shit if you want to grow. See the Himalayas as one of snow white’s dwarf.

What next?

They take a break and may never return. The excuse: “life” got it in the way.” No, you got in your way.

Don’t let life run you. You run your life. I get 10 points for sounding cliched.

This happens to be common reason why a lot of people can’t tap into their life-purpose or passion – they give up too early to grant themselves the opportunity to discover what they could’ve potentially shined like a store display diamond at.

Not focusing on the fundamentals will condemn you to be forever inconsistency and dependency on “getting lucky”.

The Money is in the Fundamentals

Fundamentals breed more opportunities; more skills.

For e.g: The more you can do with a design application, the more you can graphically create and manipulate.

Less ain’t more here. More is more.

A new base. A new inherent nature to flourish and build from.

It is the backbone to consistency and stable results. A guy can still pick his game right where he left off 15 years ago in basketball, if he had the fundamentals down pat. That cheap yet perfect lay-up, to the consistent quality brew inside each Italian coffee cup – it’s all fundamentals.
